The Green Covenant of Justice

On the morning of March 1, during the second anniversary of the implementation of the Yangtze River Protection Law, the “Green Covenant of Justice” Suzhou Intermediate People’s Court Yangtze River fishery breeding and release activity was held at the Changjiang Joint Law Enforcement Base of Taicang Changjiang.

Cai Shaogang, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Suzhou Intermediate People’s Court, attended the event and delivered a speech. Wang Xiaolin, Director of the Office of Jiangsu Taihu Fishery Management Committee, Deng Genbao, Deputy Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee of the Suzhou Municipal Party Committee, Xu Chaozhen, Member of the Standing Committee of the Taicang Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee, and Tang Xiao, a fourth-level researcher of the Suzhou Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau, attended the event. Tammy Tan and Lu Liye, deputies to the Suzhou Municipal People’s Congress, Wang Wenhua, member of the Taicang CPPCC, along with relevant responsible comrades of the Office of Jiangsu Taihu Lake Fishery Management Committee, Suzhou Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau, Suzhou Municipal Agricultural Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Detachment, Taicang Municipal Agriculture and Rural Bureau, Kunshan Municipal Agriculture and Rural Bureau, Suzhou Wujiang District Agriculture and Rural Bureau and other units, and responsible comrades of relevant departments of the Suzhou Intermediate People’s Court attended the event.

In order to maintain the ecological balance of the Yangtze River, fish breed-and-release activities and practicing the concept of restoration play a vital role. On the same day, at the Yangtze Joint Law Enforcement Base, 125,000 fish had been bred and released, including tarpon, white carp, red catfish, and mackerel, etc., contributing to the continuous improvement of the watery ecological environment.
