On the occasion of the upcoming “May Fourth”, an exclusive festival for young people, Taicang City celebrates the 101st anniversary of the founding of the Taicang Youth League, and commemorates the 104th anniversary of the “May Fourth” Movement. The event was held in the show hall of the Municipal Rong Media Center, commending individuals and collective members of the second “Taicang May Fourth Medal.” HymonBio was among those who received the reward.
Give Back to Society with Great Love
In the face of the COVID-19 epidemic, HymonBio’s staff worked day and night to tackle technical problems. On January 25, 2020, they successfully developed the SARS-CoV-2 Test Kit “made in Suzhou,” achieving the fastest laboratory high-throughput in the world, with combined sample processing and detection time for each batch at 35 minutes. The kit has passed quality evaluations at many heavyweight clinical institutes, both at home and abroad, and has been approved by the US FDA EUA, EU CE, and other national qualifications. Its fast and efficient detection performance has been praised by more than 30 overseas media, and was the only Chinese product officially named by a former US FDA commissioner on his social media account. It has since assisted in epidemic prevention and control throughout five continents.
In the beginning of 2022, it received the 2021 “Innovation Star” Cup China In Vitro Diagnostic Reagent award. HymonBio’s workers did not forget their original intentions, and actively gave back to society. They expedited production of Highly-Sensitive SARS-CoV-2 Test Kits, worth 768,000 RMB. With the help from Taicang Red Cross, they drove the kits overnight and donated them to a third-party testing institution in Wuhan to provide emergency support for epidemic prevention and control.
In May 2020, in response to General Secretary Xi Jinping’s call, at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and under the leadership of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, US$50,000 worth of test kits were donated to Pakistan. Upon learning their product was the only Chinese nucleic acid test kit to be donated to foreign friends, HymonBio felt a sense of honor.
At the beginning of December 2022, epidemic prevention and control reached a new stage. Knowing nucleic acid tests were in short supply, HymonBio staff maintained their posts and urgently donated more than a million COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test Kits to the Suzhou Municipal Government. Since 2016, HymonBio youths have spent time teaching classes for children living in mountainous areas every year, reading picture books each age group would be interested in, and building Book Corners. From Taicang, Suzhou to Tengchong, Yunnan; Ya’an in Sichuan, Pingliang in Gansu, and Xingyi in Guizhou; from assisting rural primary school library corner construction to the counterpart Baishuijing Primary School in Baiwanyao Town. The responsibility and intention of fulfilling social responsibility have extended the story of “love” for 6 years.
